mission impossible

The opening sequence to this film start as we see the main actor scaling a cliff, using long shots, pan shots and zooms we then see a mid shot of him climbing and it stays at mid, following him the rest of the way up the cliff. A reverse shot is then used as we see him emerge from the ledge. This image is shortly afterward, as he throws the glasses they explode into the titles..

splice

As weird and disturbing as they are, the main titles to Vincenzo Natali’s 2009 sci-fi thriller are impossible not to watch, but definitely get more difficult when it becomes apparent that the setting is inside something organic, with the titles written out on to the inner walls as extruding veins. The walls themselves appear like reptiles skin, very scaley and this changes throughout too an alien like skin with hundreds of visible veins. thick field of suspended particles reminds us that we are in the equivalent of amniotic molasses, escorted by a single light through caverns of ambiguous organic matter.
Designed by Kook Ewo and realized at Chez Eddy after an extensive pre-production process, the titles effectively set the tone for the film while familiarizing the audience with its own brand of genetic cloning.

screen shots - garage band

Too make the sound we used a couple kitchen utensils, we used a metal nut cracker to make the scrapey sound, we recorded it scraping on the table, for the metallic sound we used a key against a cheese grater. We recorded me saying a nursery rhyme with an almost monotone, we then edited this with - Track echo, straight quarter and vocal tranformer, down minor third. This makes it sound very creepy indeed!

The bourne supremacy

'This is not a drill soldier......This is a life project' is what we hear in the background, this gives us some idea on what the story will be based around, some form of military/special service. The next scene is jason waking up from the dream we have just seen, heads toward the bathroom too cool down, showing us his history somehow haunts him by dreams/memories. His wife debates whether his dreams are dreams or memories and he seems to remember it as a mission. Showing he isn't sure on what is reality and what is not.
